About the Asia Pacific General Galvanizers Association

The Asia Pacific General Galvanizers Association (APGGA) is the industry organisation for Asia-Pacific’s general galvanizing sector. It is a group of national Associations of many of the countries of the region, along with individual galvanizers and suppliers to galvanizers in the Asia-Pacific region.

This web-site is intended to introduce the subject of hot dip Galvanizing – the metallic zinc coating that protects steel from corrosion.

A brief history of the APGGA

Conference Locations and Association Chairmen

The first APGGA conference was held in 1992, with Mr Robert Hsiao as Conference Chairman. In 2025, our 13th Conference will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In 2001, the APGGA was formally created, with Mr Tadao Tanaka acting as our First Chairman. Since then, there have been just four Chairman and in June 2024 we will welcome our first Madam Chairman, Ms Nargis Banu of Malaysia.
